Advent of Bronco Day 5 - 2025.12.04 - 2018 NPW featuring the brightest ring mat you'll ever see!

New Professional Wrestling - Mikiya Sasaki vs. Takaya Kozaki - 2025.11.18

This is the freakin’ brightest ring mat I’ve ever seen! Hell, that might be one of the brightest things I’ve seen in general!
We are in NPW (New Professional Wrestling) based in Osaka. The promotion has a really long history, going back till 1993 where their first show took place featuring some really cool names such as Hide Kubota, Negro Samurai (now Xevious), as well as JWA Tokai Legend Hitoshi Toyoda/Black Asuka & JWA Tokai promoter Koichi Wakikaido himself! This match took place a good 25 years later and features Takaya Kozaki, a NPW mainstay since his debut in 2005), as Sasaki's opponent. Interestingly, both Sasaki and Kozaki debuted on (co-)promoted NPW cards in a span of three months in 2005. At this time, Kozaki is a two times NPW Heavyweight Champion and a one time NPW Unified Champion.
This is such a crazy venue, the neon green mat contrasts highly with the dark background and when I found this match a couple of months back, I was surprised by the overall quality of the recording. Sasaki represents J2000 in this match! Kozaki slaps Sasaki pretty hard. Sasaki almost gets Kozaki with the roll up and hits his signature punch combo before attempting the Backdrop Suplex. The suplex from Sasaki gets countered and Kozaki hits a Spear followed by a GTS. But Sasaki kicks out of the pin! Sasaki hits a Double Underhook Suplex for a two count and locks in the Spinning Toe Hold. The match ends via a low blow and a hit from a steel canister, after an interference from the NPW aligned member. This finish was shit and from this camera perspective it was clear, the ref had to see it. Sad, because the match was quite good!
